Stroller MUST have!

Okay so really you know your a mom when you fall in love with the perfect stroller! While I was pregnant with Evie we registered for lots of things. A stroller is a must have. So I wanted a multi-purpose stroller. You need to think of these things before you get a stroller so you don't end up with 10 strollers. I knew I wanted 2. A larger one for walking/jogging and then a small one to get around small area places like all my antique shops! :)

Our stroller we registered for was from Target. My best girlfriends got us this. We were thrilled and we LOVE it. We've gotten so many compliments on it. This is what is awesome about it:

1. It's affordable
2. Great reviews
3. Safe- locking wheels
4. It has the infant car seat attachment
5. You then can use it after the baby is out of the car seat
6. The seat lays all the way down. Which is amazing especially if you need to do a diaper change. BOOYAH!
7. Folds for storage
8. Has a large basket underneath to hold items
9. Easy to clean
10. The color is neutral for Boys & Girls
11. Only requires one hand to fold up. Which you don't really think about until you have a screaming child that you are holding in the other arm.
12. It has a canopy for shade

Here it is: We love this stroller. It really was a life saver when Evie was tiny tiny. I took this to all my dance camps with me!

Okay the only bad things about this stroller is that it is rather large. It folds up great but takes up most of my trunk space in my jeep. The next one is that there was no place for keys, water bottle, or your wallet. So we had a to buy a little thing which was an additional $15. Yuck.

On to our other new stroller. This stroller I am just thrilled about. I take Evie antiquing with me all the time and usually just put her in my moby wrap since the stroller above is soo large it just makes sense to not take it. Well now that Evie is older we wanted to invest in a tiny little stroller as well to take with us places. My sister in law suggested an umbrella stroller. So I did my research. I refused to pay tons of money. I was convinced I could find a great one for a great price. I searched Amazon and found this puppy.

The first years Jet Stroller:

I am pretty much in love with this stroller. I love the color. It does come in bright colors but I wanted to go with neutral so gray it was. This was easy to assemble just put the wheels on. It has a basket underneath, it has a canopy up top, it comes with 4 compartment that you can sit your drinks in, it has a zipper compartment and 4 small mesh pockets, adjustable straps for Evie, easy to fold, weighs 11lbs, AND AND AND AND The price was unbelievable for all of these things. It was on sale at Amazon for $36.00. Oh yeah and the grand total with shipping was $40.00. I say I found a gem. We have already used it and we love it! Sooo all my mommy to be friends out there if you are in the market for a stroller with multi-purpose qualities check these out! They are must haves!!

41 Weeks 4 days, STILL PREGNANT!

Hey all! I haven't posted in quite some time now. Due to being crazy busy, exhausted, trying to get things in order, projects, state assessments for school and so on. I've been swamped. This past month (month 9 and now month 10) have gone great. I definitely started getting exhausted right after our state assessments which was that first week of April. So week 38 and 39 were exhausting. I did work up until my due date April 20th. I could have kept working and could still be working now but it was better for me to have an end date. And with it being the end of the year I only had to take off the last 4 weeks, not bad! So week 40 and 41 the LONGEST weeks of my life! I realize with children you cannot plan. I have kind of wrapped my brain around all this, mostly. Most of you that know me know that I am a planner, I'm organized and I'm all about dates & times. Sooooo the entire pregnancy you've got this little date called your due date and everything and I mean EVERYTHING is center around that date. Although they tell you it's just a date and guess. BLAH. You think well the baby could come early so you want to plan and organize so you are ready for that. Then you really plan and get organized when the due date rolls around. Well let me tell you when that due date passes, WOAHZA! Poor Brian. I mean seriously, Poor Brian.
Let me start off by saying this pregnancy has been easy, fast and I've felt extremely great the entire time! Not to mention I'm really a positive person and always look at the bright side of things! Well I've never been SO GRUMPY when that due date rolled around with NO baby or signs of labor. For a few reasons. I'm not miserable, I still feel GREAT!
The first reason is that I was BORED out of my mind! I've cleaned everything, frozen meals, washed and did every piece of laundry imaginable, baked, redecorated the house, finished projects (except for the ones that require repainting) and so on! I've been going insane trying to find things to do. I am always on the go, so not working has KILLED ME.  But it has been nice to not work because my poor elephant feet have finally gotten smaller and I've been able to see my ankle bone (woohoo). I didn't even know what to do with myself. I don't really watch that much TV, so I can't lounge on the couch too long. So I was dying to get out of the house, trying not to spend too much money, and trying to find things to do! So that's been the first challenge.
The second challenge is "HAVE YOU HAD YOUR BABY YET?", "WHEN ARE YOU DUE?", "OH MY GOSH YOUR STILL PREGNANT?", "WOW YOU LOOK MISERABLE?", "ARE YOU SURE YOU AREN'T HAVING TWINS?", "WHEN ARE YOU HAVING THAT BABY", "LOOKS LIKE YOUR ABOUT TO HAVE A BABY?" (NO SHIT?) blah blah blah. I could go on and on. It doesn't hurt my feelings at all because i'm not really that sensitive. But just kills me and makes me laugh at some of the STUPID things people say to pregnant women. If I knew when I was going to have this baby I'd be GOD. I mean seriously! And it really surprises me that strangers say these things. I would never walk up to a random lady and say those things. Crazy!! I kept telling Brian that the next person that says "Wow looks like your going to have a baby." I was going to respond with "Oh yes I already had her a month ago." Just to make them feel awkward! ha! But I never did. Ironically no one else asked me after I was planning on saying that which is probably for the best!
Third reason is people were being way to nice in the sense that "Ohhh hunnie it's okay you haven't had your baby you will have her when she's ready." Well shout out to my WORK FRIENDS (HOLLA) I told Brian, "Can't everyone be like my work friends and be on my side?" Meaning can't they just not sugar coat things and joke with me by saying "WOW that sucks, I bet it feels like you are going to be pregnant for the rest of your life!" Or "Well maybe your baby will come out walking!" Or "Hopefully you will have her by next school year!" Or "Maybe you should consider entering yourself into the Guinness Book or World Records for being pregnant the longest!" HA! I love my coworkers and their sense of humor!!!! SO THANK YOU for being REAL and on my side! :)
Last reason, people trying to tell me ALL the things that will induce labor. DRIVES ME NUTS. On one of my angriest days, ha! (sounds so serious) I told Brian the next person that freaking tells me to EAT SOMETHINGS SPICY, I'm going to SHOVE A FREAKING TAMALE DOWN THEIR THROAT! It's amazing to me that people tell me these things that help labor, like I've NEVER heard of them before! Now we did try lots of things, don't get me wrong and NONE of them worked. Hence why I'm 41 weeks and 4 days pregnant!
Alright well that's  a wrap for the most negative post I've ever written! ha! I am really not mad just wanted to share my recent feelings of being 10 MONTHS PREGNANT! lol! I told Brian that the hard part of me being really hormonal is over. I think now for the laboring I'm going to be happy just because I know it will be worth it and result in a sweet little baby in our arms!! :) All in all we know she is WORTH the wait and I'd already do this over a million times because having a baby is such a miracle and we do feel extremely blessed to have been given the opportunity to experience such an amazing event!

On to GREAT NEWS:
This is my last post of being pregnant! WHAT WHAT! Yup that's right we are going in tonight to the hospital and hopefully having a baby tomorrow. (Wednesday) We are beyond excited, ready and thrilled to meet our little one. We did a sonogram yesterday since I'm past 41 weeks to make sure everything is okay with the baby and myself. Everything looks awesome and healthy. The baby's measurements are about 38-39 weeks. So either she is small or my due date is off. They are guessing around 7lbs. Give or take a pound. Her heart and lungs look awesome and she is already practicing breathing. She also has a few rolls of fat on her back already, ha! LOVE IT! So stinkin' adorable. After seeing our baby on the monitor it helped completely and made me realize that the end is SO NEAR! I've been on cloud 9 since yesterday and am truly ecstatic to meet her!

We greatly appreciate everyone who has checked in on us the past few weeks and the entire pregnancy! We are blessed to be surrounded by great family and friends. Not to mention we appreciate all the thoughts and prayers that have been headed our way. We are praying for a healthy delivery and baby tomorrow! We are so excited to be parents and to hold our little girl for the first time! Much love!!!

Baby Shower Galore!

Our Little Miss is one lucky girl! She's got so many people already that love her and are just as excited as we are for her arrival! My school threw Brian & I a Baby Shower. It was so sweet, fun and perfect. I love my coworkers!!! I only have a few pictures because my phone died, of course! Take a peak.....

My amazing 3rd grade team who I adore!!

We got lots of fun gifts! They were all much needed and so thoughtful!! :)

Some of my coworkers eating dessert!

The next baby shower we had was thrown by my sweet mother, sister and sister-in-law. They went above & beyond to say the least. It was absolutely perfect, the decor was amazing, and everyone was drooling over all the yummie treats, drinks, and crafts! They were able to reuse a lot of items from our wedding including all the vintage dishes!

The first thing I will start off with is the adorable invite my mom had made on Etsy.
Cute huh!

Here are the rest of the pictures!
It was a brunch shower so they had a variety of breakfast treats!

These vintage milk glasses are not actual old milk glasses. They are the glass Starbucks frappuccino bottles. There were only 70 of them. Yup which means our WHOLE family had to drink these for a month. If I see another Starbucks frappuccino I will vomit. haha! But it was worth it because they turned out oh so adorable!

After opening gifts, we had craft time. Everyone got to make little miss a headband, bows, or sweet little booties! So FUN!

Thank-You favors! Coral lollipops & of course delicious coffee from my parents business!

My mama made these Baby frames! So sweet. In fact I love them so much they are hanging our nursery now!

This was one of my favorites. Everyone got to fill out Wishes for the Baby! I am going to make a book out of them. They were so thoughtful and quite funny!

Two of my besties! Heather Feather and Gina!

Nursery Inspiration & Upcoming Projects!

I have lots to do for this sweet little miss that is arriving in under 8 weeks! However, I do have spring break in there which will allow me to hopefully knock lots of these fun projects out.

First project that started this week are curtains. Mine will be a gray ruffle curtain.

Here is my inspiration:
The first picture is the waterfall curtain from Urban. It is a single panel that is $89.00. YUP, EEEEKKK! Holy expensive. My ruffles will be vertical like the second photo and my curtain cost me under $30.00 and I will be making these myself. That's more like it.

Crib skirt is the next on the list. It took me FOOOOOOOOREVVVVVER to find the perfect material. But I did, I found it!! I ended up getting 2 yards of it for $25.00 with shipping. Not too bad. A lot of material/fabrics online can be rather pricey. I was super excited to find out that my fabric is from the Dwell Studio. Which I love all Dwell Studio fabrics. Here is my fabric.

My inspiration for the crib skirt

Using the coral peony fabric I have with some other gray fabric I will create a layered ruffle crib skirt. Can't wait!

Next up the lamp shade lighting. This will go above my rocking chair in the nursery. My mom and I have collected the lamp shades and tore off the fabric to them so we can add new fabric like the picture below. I will of course be using neutral colors along with a pop of coral for these lamp shades. So chic and vintage, can't wait to finish this project!

Your typical mobile over the crib will consist of a variety of small pom balls and some fabric rosette like objects. You would think after my wedding I'm done with pom balls holy cow, between me, my family, my wedding party and dear friend Karena we made enough of these things! lol! But I do love the way they look. I would like to get a hold of some coral doilies for these pom balls. Here is my inspiration.
Fabric Pom Balls

Paper Doily Pom Balls. The lady is on maternity who sells them so my options would be to find another person who hand dies them or I will have to hand dye them coral. Sounds like a challenge, we will see!

Next up Lamp Shade Ruffle that will be on the dresser. I have a few options and haven't decided what I will do but here are some pictures of my ideas.

Below are some other random inspiration ideas I will be creating.
Blue glass mason jars- I have a ton from our wedding I hope to use. I have some old vintage milk bottles that I got at an antique mall that I will be using. I also like these painted jars, look very unique and vintage.

Baby Announcement. We have so many vintage windows from Brian's old house that we used at our wedding that I'd like to incorporate with in the nursery.

These paper lined jars are super unique too. I just need to find some paper that would go along with our color scheme for the nursery.

This is one of my favorites. I plan on make this out of a piece of wood and stencil! So sweet.

Love these old crates. I have a handful from our wedding we can use. I already have one crate in the nursery that is holding books. I'd like to stencil something on the outside of the crate & possible add wheels. So sweet!

Crib banner, these are so sweet. Not sure what I would like mine to say or if it will just be fabric or rosettes! I love these banners.

That's it for now. I could go on and on but I will keep it short!! Can't wait to meet this Little Miss!
